SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's soccer team has announced the promotion of Liam Fuller to full-time assistant coach. Fuller, who joined the Garnet staff last season, becomes the first full-time assistant in the program's history. 

Fuller helped guide Swarthmore to a 5-6-6 overall record in his first season with the squad. The Garnet produced one All-Region selection and a pair of All-Centennial honorees last season.


"We are thrilled to welcome Liam back in his new role as our full-time assistant coach here at Swarthmore," said head coach Eric Wagner. "Liam's experience as a Division-I player at the University of Delaware and in FC Delco as a club player has positioned him well to help take the Garnet to the next level competitively.  He is uniquely qualified as a recruiting coordinator, has an incredible work ethic, and is completely committed to seeing the Garnet compete for Centennial Conference Championships and in the NCAA tournament."

Fuller graduated from the University of Delaware, where he played four seasons as a member of its Division-I program. A defender, he appeared in 34 games with 15 starts for the Blue Hens. 

The Philadelphia native helped elevate the Delaware program from a 2-12 team his sophomore year to a 9-4 team his senior year, reaching the conference semifinals before eventually losing to conference champions Hofstra. Fuller graduated in the spring of 2024 with a bachelors in business sports management.  Before college, he was a four-year starter and two-year captain for FC Delco Academy while attending Central High School.

Fuller has served as the head coach of FC Delco since 2024. He has also coached at the Elite 300 Soccer Academy and worked at the University of Delaware and University of Pennsylvania men's soccer camps.

"We are fortunate to have had Liam here for the past 15 months in a part-time role, and his tireless efforts at training, on the recruiting trail, and planning for the season has made him an invaluable member of the program," said Wagner. "He helped us bring in one of our deepest and highest calibre recruiting classes in several years, and has challenged the current players to take their game to the next level.  We look forward to having Liam on staff again this year to keep moving our program forward.

The Garnet open their 2026 campaign at Neumann University on September 1.
