Men’s Soccer Drops Season Finale to Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa - The Swarthmore College men's soccer team put a wrap on its season with a 1-0 loss at Haverford College on Saturday afternoon.

After 87 minutes of scoreless soccer, the Fords overtook the Garnet with the game's lone goal with two minutes remaining. Colin Crowe made a pair of saves to cap off a strong rookie campaign.

Haverford outshot the Garnet 17-6, but only held a 4-3 shot-on-goal advantage. Len Yamabe led the Swarthmore offense with a pair of shot attempts.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Yamabe challenged the Fords' keeper early with a shot in the fourth minute, but was turned away with a save. The Fords controlled pace for the remainder of the half, holding a 6-0 shot advantage to close the stanza.

- The Garnet defense stepped up with a couple blocked shots in the first half to keep action away from their keeper. Crowe answered the call with a save in the 28th minute, while Henry Lin saved a shot that trickled behind the keeper in the 38th minute.

- Swarthmore came out of the half with a flurry of shots to pressure the Fords defense. Kaden Cho had his attempt saved in the 51st minute, while Toshiro Kenney had his second-chance opportunity blocked off the ensuing rebound.

- Joseph Eyiolowope sent one final shot on goal for the Garnet in the 57th minute, but couldn't break the scoreless draw. The Fords eventually tallied the game-winning goal in the 88th minute.
