Elmore Named Assistant Softball Coach

SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The Swarthmore College softball team announced the hiring of Ajala Elmore as an assistant softball coach.

Elmore joins a Garnet staff that has captured back-to-back Centennial Conference Championships and three conference titles over the past four seasons. Last season, the program climbed to a program-best No. 14 national ranking while setting a school record with 35 victories. Swarthmore hosted the NCAA Regional for the first time in program history.

"I am thrilled to welcome Ajala to the Swarthmore softball family as our new assistant coach," said head coach Melissa Finley. "Ajala brings a high-energy approach to coaching, a strong competitive drive, and a passion for student-athlete development that aligns with our program's values. Her experience playing and leading at a high level will be invaluable as we strive to continue our championship culture and support our student-athletes on the field and in the classroom."

A three-year softball captain at Moravian University, Elmore earned three All-Landmark selections and two NFCA All-Region accolades to headline an excellent career. The second baseman helped lead the Greyhounds to four Landmark titles, while capturing back-to-back conference tournament Most Valuable Player awards. She hit .329 for her career with 11 home runs and 107 RBI in 184 games played.

Elmore graduated as the program's all-time leader in games played. She currently ranks top-10 in career stolen bases and defensive assists.

In addition to her impact on the field, Elmore was a four-year representative for Moravian's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, and served as the graduate assistant in the Office of the President at Moravian, where she supported high-level administrative functions, managed scheduling and communications, and helped plan and execute major university events in coordination with senior leadership.

Last year, Elmore worked as an intern for the Landmark Conference while earning her MBA in Data Analytics at Moravian. Elmore assisted with conference operations, communication efforts, championship preparation, and strategic initiatives across the league's 23 sponsored sports.
