Four Men's Lacrosse Players Garner All-America Honorable Mention

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team had four players receive All-America honorable mention from the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association.
 
Clay Almgren, Gabe Malcolm, Jack McHenry, and Drew Tyson were all recognized by the coaches association. It is the third career All-America honor for Tyson and the second for Almgren. Tyson is the program's first three-time All-American since Orville Wright in 1954.



 
Almgren was named the Centennial Conference Offensive Player of the Year for the second season in a row. He led the squad with 37 assists and 85 points while sitting second with 48 goals. The senior also tallied 33 ground balls and five caused turnovers. Almgren recorded season highs of seven goals, seven assists, 11 points, and eight ground balls. He also garnered All-America honorable mention from USA Lacrosse Magazine. Almgren graduates as the program's all-time leader in both goals (145) and points (262).
 
Malcolm was a defensive midfielder who finished with 31 ground balls and 15 caused turnovers. He also posted one goal and one assist offensively. Malcolm had season-bests of five ground balls and three caused turnovers.
 
McHenry won 265 face-offs with a .650 win percentage. He collected 166 ground balls and his ground ball and face-off win totals set new Swarthmore single-season records. The junior ranked 15th in the nation in ground balls per game and 33rd in face-off win percentage. McHenry had a season-high 22 face-off wins twice and collected a season-best 18 ground balls versus Messiah University. He already owns the Garnet's all-time face-off wins record with 548.
 
Tyson went 11-8 with a program-record 236 saves in the cage. He ranked 24th in Division III in save percentage (.588). The 2024 Centennial Defensive Player of the Year produced a season-high 22 saves at Muhlenberg College in the conference tournament. Tyson ends his career with 638 saves, good for third on the program's all-time list.
