LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Swarthmore College softball team returned to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association Top 25 Poll for the first time since preseason on Tuesday, jumping back in at No. 22.
The Garnet have been on a hot streak, winning their last five contests and 17 of their last 19 games. Swarthmore earned two key regional victories last week with a doubleheader sweep of No. 19 Stockton to prove it could no longer be ignored by the national voters.
Lilly Goldberg is having another standout season for the Garnet in the pitching circle. She currently ranks 12
th in Division III in ERA (0.99), 16
th in innings pitched (113.2), 17
th in wins (13), 18
th in WHIP (0.91), and 22
nd in hits allowed per seven innings (4.68).
Iris Barone highlights the Swarthmore offense, batting .445 with a 1.120 OPS on the season. She is 14
th in the nation with six triples and leads the Centennial Conference in stolen bases (27).
The Garnet travel to Washington College on Tuesday for a conference doubleheader.
