LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Drew Tyson was chosen the Centennial Conference Men's Lacrosse Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Tyson totaled 30 saves with a .577 save percentage to help the Garnet clinch a Centennial Tournament berth. He opened the week with 15 saves and a .556 save percentage in a tough 12-11 overtime loss at Washington College. The senior bounced back to stop another 15 shots with a .600 save percentage in a playoff-clinching 15-10 victory at Franklin and Marshall. Tyson allowed just three goals in the second half against the Diplomats, making seven saves over the final 30 minutes to allow Swarthmore to come from behind for the win.
The Garnet host Haverford College on Saturday in the regular season finale.
