LANCASTER, Pa. – Swarthmore College's
Dylan Zhang was named the Centennial Conference Men's Golf Athlete of the Week on Tuesday by the conference office.
Zhang captured the individual title at the Camp Lejeune Marine Intercollegiate, besting a stacked field of 110 featuring several ranked players. He defeated the runner-up from Oglethorpe, ranked No. 2 in the nation, by one stroke. The senior finished the tournament with a three-round score of 209 (-7), scoring under par in all three rounds. He also set a new 54-hole program record. Zhang opened with a 67 (-5), matching a career best and recording the second-lowest round in program history. Zhang then posted a 71 (-1) in both rounds two and three. His score through 36 holes matched his career low and tied his own program record. Zhang tallied 14 birdies in the tournament.
The Garnet compete in the Fred Kravetz Invitational this weekend.
