CAMP LEJEUNE, NC - Swarthmore College men's golf standout
Dylan Zhang finished as the individual champion at the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate on Sunday. The senior captured the individual crown by one stroke, while setting a program 54-hole record at seven-under-par.
Zhang shot one-under-par for the second-straight round to finish at seven-under. He ended the tournament with 14 total birdies, tying for the second most in the clubhouse.Â
The Garnet finished in eighth overall out of 24 teams. The squad shot nine-over-par in the final round to finish at 20-over for the tournament.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zhang outlasted his challenger by one stroke, holding off his opponent with a strong finish to the three-day tournament. The senior finished today's round at one-under-par, carding a 71 with three birdies. Zhang finished at 209 (-7) to set a new program 54-hole record.Â
- Frank Zhou finished at two-over-par to tie for 17th place. The rookie was two-over in the final round, carding three birdies for the afternoon.Â
- Michael Yuen tied for 52nd overall at 10-over-par. The rookie carded a 78 (+6) with two birdies in the final round.Â
- Judah Fulchiero finished strong at three-over-par in the final round. The sophomore wrapped up the tournament in 74th place at 16-over. Phillip Kim capped off the team's competitors, shooting a 77 (+5) on the final day. He finished tied for 94th at 21-over. Â
