WEST CHESTER, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's track & field team competed at the Bill Butler Invitational on Saturday at West Chester University. The Garnet placed seventh in the team standings.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Ryan Scott had the top finish for Swarthmore, taking the runner-up spot in the 400 meter hurdles with a career-best time of 55.60. Handuo Sun ran in the 10,000 meters and took third (38:08.31) with a personal best.
 
- Joey Alander and Alex Thompson both scored points for the Garnet in the 800 meters, coming in fourth (1:59.90) and sixth (2:00.24) respectively. Both times were personal records.
 
- James Saunders finished fifth in the 110 meter hurdles with a career-best time of 15.60 seconds. Alan Nichols tied for fifth place in the high jump, clearing a height of 1.68 meters.
 
- Jackson Mejia came in sixth place (3.81m) in the pole vault while Ethan Rapoport was eighth (11.50m) in the shot put. Rapoport's mark was a personal best.
