CAMP LEJEUNE, NC - The Swarthmore College men's golf team find themselves in a tie for seventh overall heading into the final round of the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate. The Garnet shot a team score of 296 (+8) for the second round.
Dylan Zhang remains tied for the individual lead heading into tomorrow's finale. The senior battled through today's round with a one-under-par performance, bringing his tournament total to six-under. Zhang matched his 36-hole career low and tied his own program record.
Frank Zhou was the biggest mover of the day, climbing into a tie for 15th overall. The rookie carded a one-under-par round to move to even for the tournament.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Zhang kept pace with the lead, shooting a 71 (-1) to move to six-under-par. The senior opened with a remarkable stretch of four birdies before encountering a few bogeys on the back nine. He closed on a high note, sinking a clutch birdie on the 18th hole to maintain his share of the lead. Zhang is tied for second in the clubhouse with 11 birdies for the tournament.
- Zhou moved into a tie for 15th place with a one-under-par performance. The rookie was steady all afternoon, bogeying just one hole with a pair of birdies on the back nine. He sits at even par for the tournament and just one stroke outside of the seventh position.
- Michael Yuen moved up to 30th place, shooting one-over-par for the round. The rookie recorded four birdies to headline a stellar performance. He currently sits four-over for the tournament.
- Judah Fulchiero and Phillip Kim both shot nine-over-par for the round. Fulchiero is in 86th place at 13-over, while Kim resides in 99th at 16-over.
