CAMP LEJEUNE, NC - The Swarthmore College men's golf team sits in fifth overall after the opening round of the three-day Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate on Friday.

Dylan Zhang shares the clubhouse lead after shooting five-under-par to open the first 18 holes. The senior matched a career best, while posting the second-lowest round in program history. Zhang has now accounted for three of the program's ten lowest rounds. 


HOW IT HAPPENED
- Dylan Zhang tied for the lead after shooting five-under-par in the opening round. The senior carded a season-low 67 with six birdies to finish with the second most in the field. 

- Frank Zhou finished one-over-par to open the tournament tied for 23rd overall. The rookie shot a 73 with three birdies, while finishing strong with even-par on the back nine. 

- Michael Yuen currently sits in 42nd place after opening the tournament at three-over-par with a 75. The first-year carded a one-under front nine before facing some adversity down the stretch on the back.

- Judah Fulchiero rounded out the team's scorers with a 76 (+4), highlighted by four birdies, to sit at 60th overall. Phillip Kim also competed for the Garnet, carding a 79 (+7) to place 86th.
