Xin, Zhang Sit Inside Top-5 After Swat Invite Opener

MALVERN, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's golf team opened action at its home invitational on Sunday morning. The Garnet currently reside in fourth place, while the B squad sits in sixth.

Andy Xin sits in second place after shooting even for the opening round. Dylan Zhang also occupies a top-five spot after shooting one-over-par. 


HOW IT HAPPENED
- Xin shot an even-71 to finish two strokes off the leader in the opening round. The senior registered three birdies on the afternoon.

- Zhang tied for fourth overall, shooting one-over-par to open play. The senior got off to a strong start with an excellent putt to save par on the opening hole, he then birdied on two of his first four holes.

- Frank Zhou was the third member of the Garnet to crack the top-10, tying for eighth overall. The rookie shot a 74 (+3) and carded three birdies. 

- Michael Yuen finished the opening round at five-over-par to tie for 19th overall. Alex Lyu followed in a tie for 28th, carding a 77 (+6).

- Judah Fulchiero tied for 34th at seven-over-par. The sophomore rallied four birdies for the round.

- Max Ash and Phelps Wang shot eight-over-par to tie for 44th, while Harrison Stracks shot an 80 (+9) to occupy 51st.

- Neil Zhu and Thomas Bundy rounded out the team's performers. Zhu carded a 84 (+13), while Bundy shot a 93 (+22). 

UP NEXT
The Garnet wrap up their home tournament with the closing two rounds tomorrow.
