LANCASTER, Pa. – The Swarthmore College men's indoor track & field team sits in sixth place after day one of the Centennial Conference Championships on Saturday. The meet is being held at Franklin and Marshall College.
The highlight of the day was the Garnet's 4x200 meter relay, in which the squad broke the program record that stood for nearly three decades.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The 4x200 meter relay team of
Theo Teszler,
Alan Nichols,
Jacob Tavarez, and
Noah St. George crossed in 1:32.03, besting the program standard of 1:32.1 set in 1997. The group finished in seventh place but was just 0.47 seconds off the podium.
- The distance medley relay of
Charlie Schuetz,
Owen Lord, Issac Chu, and
Kenneth Relovsky achieved the podium, placing third with a time of 10:25.39.
Cohen Manges took fourth (15:08.24) in the 5000 meters and
Spencer Etheridge was 19
th (15:41.94).

James Saunders qualified for Sunday's final in the 60 meter hurdles, coming in sixth place in the prelims with a time of 8.89. Swarthmore was fifth (8:16.06) in the 4x800 meter relay with
Noah Stapleton,
Logan Rose,
Lucas McGarvey, and
Jasper Goldstein.

Rishi Tella placed sixth (13.30m) in the triple jump and he was 17
th (7.18) in the 60 meters. Both were personal bests and his time in the 60 was just 0.03 seconds off the school record.
- In the pole vault,
Jackson Mejia,
Aidan Corpus, and
Ravi Sandhu took eighth (3.85m), ninth (3.70m) and 13
th place (3.40m) respectively.
