INDIANAPOLIS - Swarthmore College track & field standout
Hannah Swale punched her ticket to the NCAA Championships in the heptathlon, announced on Friday night. The junior qualified for the championships with the 21st best mark in the nation, and the best finish in the Metro Region.

Swale took the conference title in the heptathlon with a school-record 4646 points. She surpassed the previous total of 4189 points set by Ramona O'Halloran in 1986. It was Swale's second straight victory in the event and her third consecutive medal. She was the top finisher in four of the seven events in the competition.
For each individual event contested, including the decathlon and heptathlon, the top-22 declared student-athletes were accepted into the competition. For each relay event contested, the top-16 declared relay teams, one per institution, were accepted into the competition.
The championships will be held May 22-24 at SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.
