PHILADELPHIA - Swarthmore College field hockey standout
Amelia Landry was recognized as a member of the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area field hockey squad, announced on Monday. Voted on by local athletic communications offices, the honor recognizes 13 of the top student-athletes across all divisions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
Landry appeared on the list for the first-time in her career, sharing space with student-athletes from Villanova University, Saint Joseph's University, Drexel University, Immaculata University, Neumann University, Rowan University, West Chester University, Temple University, Haverford College and the University of Penn.
The senior defender was exceptional on both sides of the ball, posting two defensive saves, while finishing second on the Garnet with six goals. Her six goals and 12 points marked career-highs. The senior started all 19 games and led a Swarthmore defense that ranked fourth in the region in shutouts per game and tenth in goals against average.
Earlier this offseason, Landry earned her second consecutive All-Centennial Conference First Team selection. She also garnered NFHCA All-Region first-team status, and was chosen to the NFHCA Collegiuate Senior Team.
