GLASSBORO, N.J. – The Swarthmore College men's swimming team bounced back with a 175-87 victory at Rowan University on Saturday.
The Garnet dominated the meet, winning an impressive 12 of the 14 events.
Dylan Ling,
Ham Williams-Tracy, and
Cami Wilson led the way with two victories apiece. Swarthmore captured both relays on the way to the triumph.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet swept the top four spots in the 100 backstroke with Wilson (50.30),
Lester Wessels (53.78),
Jacob Sherman (54.09), and
Dylan Herink (54.66) finishing in succession. Wilson was also the winner in the 100 butterfly, posting a NCAA B-cut time of 48.62.
Levi Tipton (50.92),
Luke Magnuson (52.52), and
Timothy Fan (52.93) finished behind Wilson as Swarthmore had another top-four sweep in the 100 fly.
- Swarthmore also claimed all top-four positions in the 200 IM with Ling earning the win (1:58.75) ahead of
Danny Castle (1:59.26), Herink (1:59.31), and
Will Trone (2:04.03). Ling also touched the wall first (1:55.61) in the 200 butterfly followed by
Mateo Smith in second (1:56.39).
- Williams-Tracy picked up wins in both the 200 (1:44.06) and 500 (4:43.92) freestyle. The Garnet also received victories from Theo Kim in the 1000 freestyle (9:53.95),
Cole Griscavage in the 100 free (48.10), Sherman in the 200 backstroke (1:55.43), and
Omar Ebied in the 200 breaststroke (2:10.77).
- Swarthmore won the 200 medley relay in 1:33.86 with the team of
Matvey Ivanov, Griscavage, Wilson, and Castle. The 200 freestyle relay of Wilson, Williams-Tracy, Tipton, and Griscavage also took first place (1:24.15) for the Garnet.
- Griscavage and Tipton placed second (21.78) and third (22.25) respectively in the 50 free.
Sam Peterson produced a pair of top-three finishes, taking second (4:49.13) in the 500 freestyle and third (1:45.18) in the 200 free. Trone came in third (1:01.34) in the 100 breaststroke while Castle placed third (2:14.02) in the 200 breast.
