PHILADELPHIA – The Swarthmore College men's swimming team had three athletes selected to the Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area Team this week.
Danny Castle,
Luke Magnuson, and
Levi Tipton represented the Garnet on the squad. It was the second straight Academic All-Area nod for Castle. The team is nominated and voted on by the athletic communications offices of 30 colleges and universities in the Philadelphia Metropolitan area.
The trio swam on three All-America relays at the NCAA Division III Championships. Swarthmore placed 12
th in the 200 medley relay, and 14
th in both the 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Castle won the 200 free at the Centennial Championships and was on two gold-medal relays. Tipton raced on two winning relays and Magnuson earned gold on the 200 free relay. Castle and Magnuson also claimed a silver medal as members of the 200 medley relay.
