MEDIA, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's cross country team took first overall at the Bryn Mawr Invitational to open its 2024 season on Friday. The men's team captured the team victory in their fourth-straight season at Rose Tree Park. 

Cohen Manges opened his sophomore campaign with a first place finish to pace nine top-10 finishes for the team. Spencer Etheridge grabbed third for the Garnet, while Joshua Leinwand and Joey Alander took fourth and fifth, respectively.




HOW IT HAPPENED
- Manges finished nearly 10-seconds ahead of the nearest competitor with a time of 17:23.00 to claim the top finish of the meet. The sophomore set a collegiate personal-best in the 5k race. 

- Etheridge crossed the finish line in third place with a 17:34.90 effort. Leinwand and Alander then followed closely behind in fourth with times of 17:35.00, respectively. Both sophomore's achieved collegiate bests on the course. 

- Charlie Schuetz placed just outside the top-five with a personal-best of 17:35.30 to take sixth overall. Kenneth Relovsky and Jasper Mosley then followed behind in seventh place at 17:35.30.

- Teddy King-Pollet and Colin DeLaney both finished inside the top-10 with ninth-place efforts. Both the freshman and senior crossed the finish together at 17:35.40.
