PHILADELPHIA – Swarthmore College's
Cohen Manges was selected to the PhillySIDA Academic All-Area Men's Cross Country Team on Wednesday.
Voted on by local athletic communications offices, the honor recognized nine of the top student-athletes across all divisions in the Philadelphia metropolitan area. To be eligible, a student-athlete must be at least a sophomore and have at least a 3.30 cumulative GPA.
Manges earned the accolade for the first time in his career and joined student-athletes from Haverford College, Rowan University, Gwynedd Mercy University, Rutgers-Camden, Williamson College of the Trades, and Eastern University on the list.
Manges qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships for the third straight year, finishing 180
th (25:51.5) at the national meet. He came in fifth (24:44.8) at the NCAA Metro Regional for his third consecutive All-Region honor. The junior also picked up his third straight All-Centennial Second Team nod after taking 11
th (24:48.4) at the Centennial Conference Championships.
Manges had another top-10 finish at the Bryn Mawr Invitational, running a personal-best 5K of 16:43.6 to take eighth place. He led the Garnet to a second-place team finish at the NCAA Metro Regional, their highest since 2022 and was also the team's top runner at Centennials, where they placed third to match their highest finish in program history.
