GALLOWAY, N.J. – The Swarthmore College men's cross country team produced four All-Region runners and finished fourth as a team at the NCAA Metro Region Championships held at Stockton University on Saturday.
Cohen Manges,
Kenneth Relovsky,
Atticus Hempel, and
Spencer Etheridge all placed in the top 35 to earn All-Region honors for the Garnet, who came in the top four at the regional for the third time in the last four years.
With his performance, Manges also qualified for the NCAA Division III Championships for the second year in a row.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Manges was the top Swarthmore finisher, coming in 11
th place with a time of 25:12.1 on the 8K course. As one of the top seven runners not on an advancing team, he will head to the national championships once again.
- Relovsky posted a career-best time (25:24.0) to come in 15
th place. He topped his previous personal record by 25 seconds.
- Hempel crossed the line 17
th (25:29.5) for his third career All-Region accolade. It was the best time of his career at the regional championship.
- Etheridge took 32
nd in 25:49.1, beating the All-Region cutoff by seven seconds. It was a personal record for the sophomore.
- First-years
Jasper Mosley and
Teddy King-Pollet produced strong showings in their first regional meet, placing 40
th (26:12.0) and 42
nd (26:24.0) respectively.
Colin DeLaney finished 49
th (26:32.4) in his final NCAA Regional race.
