No. 16 Women’s Track & Field Finishes Second at Oscar Moore

GLASSBORO, NJ - The No. 16 Swarthmore College women's track & field team finished second at the Rowan University Oscar Moore Invitational on Saturday.

Adria Retter earned a trio of top-three finishes on the day with a victory in the discus throw and a pair of runner-up finishes in the shot put and hammer throw. The senior currently leads the nation in the discus throw, while ranking fourth in the shot put and 19th in the hammer throw.

Krystle Boadi and Johanna Schubert also earned a pair of first place finishes in their respective events. 

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Retter built on her NCAA-leading discus throw with a new best of 49.87m to take first overall in the event. Tate Garcia also had a strong showing as she finished as the runner-up with a 35.30m mark. Retter placed second in the shot put (12.56m) and hammer throw (49.49m) to earn her third top-three finish of the day. The senior currently ranks fourth in the nation in the shot put and 19th in the hammer throw. 

- Krystle Boadi won the 100m dash with a time of 12.44 after she also placed first overall in the prelims. Hannah Swale also earned a top-10 finish in the 200m dash with a 28.16 mark.

- Johanna Schubert won the 800m run with a time of 2:22.58. Allison Shan also earned a top-10 finish with a 2:44.18 mark.

- The 4x400m relay of Boadi, Hannah Garrou, Gabby Johnson and Teszler grabbed second place in the event with a time of 4:01.57. 

- Sophia Springer was second in the pole vault with a top height of 3.05m. Lily Fournier also placed first in the triple jump with a top distance of 9.48m.

- Cat Crochunis-Brown earned a top-three finish for the Garnet in the 3000m run. The senior crossed the finish line at 11:24.36. Iliana Gonzalez also claimed the top spot in the 3000m steeplechase with a 13:14.09 mark.

- The Garnet placed three in the top-five in the 1500m run. Rose Teszler took third with a 4:46.91 finish. Quinn Basewitz and Olivia Montini then followed with fourth and fifth place efforts, respectively. Basewitz finished at 4:51.26, while Montini ran a 4:53.31.

- Hannah Swale and Jillian Provaznik were fourth and fifth in the javelin throw. Swale had a top throw of 32.58m, while Provaznik recorded a throw of 31.97m. 

- Morgan Mouer finished fifth in the 400m dash at 1:03.83.

The Garnet will have athletes competing at next weekend's Bucknell Bison Outdoor Open, Princeton Larry Ellis Invite and Middlesex College Invitational.
