Teszler and Retter Win Gold at Centennial Championships

COLLEGEVILLE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's track & field team placed third overall as they wrapped up competition at the Centennial Championships on Sunday.

Rose Teszler and Adria Retter highlighted the afternoon with individual championships. Teslzer grabbed gold in the 800m run, while Retter continued her dominance in the shot put. The duo also won their respective events during the indoor championships.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Teszler captured the conference title in the 800m run. The junior ran a personal record of 2:13.54 to beat out her opponent by two seconds. Alina Irvine and Morgan Mouer also earned points with finishes of fourth and fifth, respectively. Irvine crossed the finish at 2:19.16, while Mouer followed at 2:19.67. Both freshmen set a personal record in the event.

- Retter won the conference championship in the shot put with a top throw of 11.98m. The junior also earned silver in yesterday's discus throw.

- Nora Blodgett finished fourth in the 1500m run with a time of 4:42.61. The senior bested her previous personal record by six seconds in the event.

- Krystle Boadi was fifth in the 100m dash with a time of 12.96. She also put together a fifth place effort in the 200m dash with a 26.43 effort.

- Emma Chiao and Alyssa Zhang placed fifth and sixth respectively in the triple jump. Chiao recorded a top distance of 10.73m, while Zhang followed with a personal-best jump of 10.54m.

- Quinn Basewitz placed sixth in the 400m hurdles. The junior set a new personal record with a time of 1:09.26.

- The 4x400m relay of Boadi, Gabby Johnson, Teszler and Mouer placed fourth overall with a time of 4:01.80.
