Women’s Swimming Captures Four Golds, Hold Comfortable Lead After Day Three

LANCASTER, Pa. - After three days of competition at the Centennial Championships, Swarthmore College Women's Swimming leads second place Gettysburg College by nearly 270 points. The Garnet sit at the top of the standings with 680.5 points, while the Bullets have 411 tallies.

Sophie Rotival highlighted the meet for the women with a conference championship record in the 100 breaststroke to claim gold for the Garnet.

MEET HIGHLIGHTS
- Rotival touched the wall at 1:03.76 to set a new conference record in the 100 breaststroke. The time was also an NCAA B cut and ranked second all-time for the Garnet. Gaby Ma and Annabella Boardman also captured silver and bronze in the event, respectively. Ma swam a 1:04.16, while Boardman posted a 1:04.48.

- Ashley Wong led another Swarthmore sweep in the 100 butterfly as she claimed gold with a time of 56.92. Liz Gallagher was second with a time of 57.58, while Cara Lee rounded out the trio at 58.03.

- Annaliese Chen captured the conference title in the 400 IM with a time of 4:33.70 to set a new program record. Lauren Rohde also picked up a silver medal in the event with a 4:34.98 effort.

- Erin Szuromi captured the Garnet's fourth gold of the evening with a championship effort in the 100 backstroke. The first-year swam a time of 57.66 to pace the field.

- The 200 Freestyle Relay of Rotival, Gallagher, Georgi Mathews and Lee took silver to open the night. The relay clocked in at 1:36.50 to rank second all-time on the Garnet leaderboard.

- Mathews took home silver in the 200 freestyle with a 1:53.17 effort. The first-year's time marked a new Swarthmore program record.
