Collins Finishes National Runner-Up, No. 12 Women’s Swimming Captures Six All-Americans

INDIANAPOLIS - The No. 12 Swarthmore College women's swimming team combined for six All-American honors to headline an outstanding opening night of the NCAA National Championships on Wednesday evening.

Genine Collins had the performance of the night, finishing as the runner-up with a pair of Centennial Conference records in the 50 freestyle. The junior matched the highest NCAA finish in program history, tying Swarthmore Hall of Famer Anne Miller's second-place effort from 2008. Collins entered the championship finals as the top seed after swimming the fastest time in the morning prelims.

Collins grabbed her second All-American first-team selection of the night, teaming up with Maya Ambardekar, Cara Dominici and Norah Rutkowski for a sixth-place result in the 400 medley relay. The trio captured their first career All-American accolades, while Collins wrapped up the night with her 11th career All-American finish.

Quinn Weygandt achieved second-team status in the 200 individual medley. The senior added her ninth career All-American nod with several opportunities to add to the total this week.
