Women’s Swimming Sits in Second after Opening Session of Gettysburg Invitational

GETTYSBURG, Pa. - The Swarthmore College women's swimming team sits in second place out of six teams after the first session of the Gettysburg Invitational on Friday night. Gettysburg leads the pack with 307.5 points, while Swarthmore sits in second place with 258 points.

Elle Anthony set a school record in the 50 freestyle and met the NCAA B-cut time, while Quinn Weygandt also set a school record in the 200 IM.

The 400 medley relay of Erin Szuromi, Gaby Ma, Ashley Wong and Cara Lee set a new school record in the event, while also meeting NCAA B-cut standard.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Szuromi, Ma, Wong and Lee won the 400 medley relay with a time of 3:51.26. Swarthmore also took third overall in the event with the team of Lexi Duffy, Annabella Boardman, Annaliese Chen and Kate Hallmark finishing at 3:55.80.

- Hallmark finished second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:04.06 to move into third all-time on the program leaderboard. Lauren Rohde also earned a top-five finish in the event with a 5:11.46 effort to place fourth.

- Weygandt took second place in the 200 IM with a 2:06.85 effort. The first-year was followed by teammates Anthony (2:07.54), Ma (2:10.07) and Chen (2:10.16), who finished third, fourth and fifth respectively. Anthony's time ranks second all-time in program history.

- Anthony, Wong, Ainsley Jane Tambling and Szuromi took second in the 200 freestyle relay with a time of 1:36.25.
