GREENSBORO, N.C.—Swarthmore College Men's Swimming had four student-athletes qualify for the NCAA Championship on March 18-21 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.
After earning B cuts during the Centennial Championships in the 400 free relay and the 800 free relay, Swarthmore's relay squad of junior Alec Menzer, sophomores Alec Lawless and Ethan Bergmann, and freshman Ben Freeman will be making the trip to nationals.
Swarthmore's 400 free relay seed time of 3:00.82 is 10th best nationally, and the 800 free relay time of 6:40.27 is 11th nationally.
Menzer, Lawless, Bergmann and Freeman also had B cuts in individual events at the Centennial Championship and will be allowed to compete in those as well. Menzer is seeded 17th in the 200 free and 21st in the 500 free, Lawless is 27th in the 50 free, Bergmann 35th in the 200 free, and Freeman 22nd in the 1,650 free.
Lawless competed at nationals last season and earned All-America Honorable Mention in the 200 medley relay and 400 free relay. Menzer competed at nationals in 2018 in the 200 free, 500 free and 200 fly.
