Wilson Grabs All-American Status on Night One of NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS - The Swarthmore College men's swimming team opened action at the NCAA National Championships with an All-American swim from Cami Wilson on Wednesday night.

Wilson earned his fifth career All-American honor, and his first in the 50 freestyle, with a second-team finish. The senior did so in record-breaking fashion, setting a new program mark in the event with a sub-20-second swim. Wilson now ranks second all-time in Centennial Conference history in the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- Wilson tied for ninth overall in the 50 freestyle with a time of 19.90. The senior tied for first place in the consolation final, matching the time of an NYU fifth-year. The result was the fifth-fastest mark in both finals. Wilson broke his own program record in the event and finished just a tenth-of-a-second off the conference best.

UP NEXT
The Garnet return to action tomorrow for day two of four. The team will compete in the 200 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 freestyle relay.
