Beeker shattered the Swarthmore single-season walks record with 39 this season, which contributed to his .518 on-base percentage. The lefty hitter and thrower batted .393 and slugged .647 with a .992 fielding percentage. He also led Swarthmore with 21 doubles, tying the program's single-season record. He drove in 47 runs and scored 47 runs in 2019.
The Lexington, N.C., native has already set Swarthmore career records in RBIs (142) and doubles (47). Beeker will enter his senior season ranked top five in Garnet history in hits (178), runs (115), home runs (12), total bases (263) and walks (74).
This marks the second year in a row that Swarthmore Baseball has produced an All-American. The American Baseball Coaches Association named
Ricky Conti '19 a third-team All-American in 2018. Until then, the Garnet hadn't had an All-American since Ed Green also earned third-team honors in 1985.
Swarthmore had a 27-12 record in 2019, tying the 1985 team for the second most wins in a season in program history.
