GREENWOOD, Ind. – The Swarthmore College baseball team had a pair of student-athletes named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
Noah Potholm and
Aidan Sullivan garnered the honor. Potholm earned the nod for the second straight year while Sullivan was a first-time selection. To be eligible for Academic All-District accolades, student-athletes must be at least a sophomore academically and athletically, and have a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or better. In addition, they had to have competed in 90 percent of the institution's games played or start in at least 66 percent of the institution's games. For pitchers, a student-athlete must have made at least 17 appearances or pitched 35 innings. The Academic All-District Team is part of the Academic All-America program, which is the longest running and premier award for athletic and academic success across college sports.
Potholm made 11 appearances on the mound, starting 10 games. He went 3-3 with a 5.19 ERA and received All-Centennial honorable mention. The senior tossed one complete game and walked just 14 in 60.2 innings, accumulating 39 strikeouts.
Sullivan was an All-Region Second Team honoree after leading the Garnet with a .403 batting average and 1.206 OPS. He tallied 54 hits, 13 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 40 RBI, 49 runs, and 23 stolen bases. The senior was an All-Centennial First Team selection.
