LANCASTER, Pa. – The Swarthmore College baseball team had three players named to the All-Centennial Team, the conference announced on Thursday.
Aidan Sullivan was selected to the All-Centennial First Team for the second time in his career. It was his fourth career All-Centennial nod overall, joining Anthony Montalbano '12 as the only two players in program history to be a four-time All-Centennial honoree.
Noah Potholm and
Deven Peterson both received honorable mention for the Garnet. In addition,
Daniel Lombardo was Swarthmore's representative on the Centennial All-Sportsmanship Team.
Sullivan led the Garnet with a .403 batting average and 1.206 OPS. He tallied 54 hits, 13 doubles, one triple, seven home runs, 40 RBI, 49 runs, and 23 stolen bases. The senior ranked fifth in the conference in OPS, and seventh in batting average, walks, and stolen bases. Sullivan was also a steady presence in the outfield with a .972 fielding percentage, committing just two errors all season and recording three assists. He produced 16 multi-hit performances.
Potholm made 11 appearances on the mound, starting 10 games. He went 3-3 with a 5.19 ERA. The senior tossed one complete game and walked just 14 in 60.2 innings, accumulating 39 strikeouts. Potholm was fourth in the Centennial in innings pitched, tied for fifth in walks allowed, and 10
th in strikeouts. He tallied a season-high seven strikeouts versus Rosemont College.
Peterson batted .333 with a .977 OPS. He totaled 42 hits, 10 doubles, one triple, one home run, 39 RBI, and 42 runs. The first-year player was second in the conference in hit by pitches and eighth in on-base percentage. Peterson had 10 multi-hit games with a season-high three at Washington College.
Swarthmore finished the year with a 24-14 record, marking back-to-back seasons with 20-plus victories.
