DAY 1 RECAP
LANCASTER, Pa. - Swarthmore College Men's Indoor Track & Field jumped up one spot to take third place at the Centennial Conference Championships on Sunday.
Senior duo
Daniel Belkin and
Benjamin Hejna earned first and second in the triple jump on Day 1 on Saturday, and their success continued on Day 2. Belkin won the high jump by clearing a bar set at 1.95 meters (6 feet 4.75 inches). Hejna placed fifth as he topped out at 1.90m (60ft 2.75in). Belkin also got third in the long jump with a leap of 6.73m (22ft 1in), and Hejna was right behind him at 6.72m (22ft 0.75in) for fourth place.
Senior
Jared Hunt dominated to win gold in the shot put with a Swarthmore-record heave of 16.03m (52ft 7.25in). He currently ranks 18
th in Division III and has a chance to qualify for the National Championships set for March 8-9 in Boston. Fellow Garnet senior
Ryan Marrone finished third in the shot put at 15.20m (49ft 10.50in).
Senior
Robert Eppley took home bronze in the 60m hurdles by completing the race in 8.83 seconds. He set the Swarthmore record in the prelims on Saturday at 8.77 seconds.
Garnet sophomore
Alex Flowers came in fourth in the pole vault at 4.25m (13ft 11.25in), and junior
Adil Belgaumi placed fifth in the 200m dash in 23.51 seconds.
