SWARTHMORE, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Track and Field competed at home on Monday evening in the Swarthmore Final Qualifier.
Freshman Rachel Vresilovic broke her own school record in the javelin with a throw of 38.21m and finished in second place overall. In the other throwing events, senior Maggie O'Neil hurled the discus 36.46m on her final throw and finished in second place. She also came in fifth in the shot put with a throw of 12.66m.
In the 1,500-meter run, Kate Hannah posted a sub-five time of 4:57.94 and finished 40th overall. In the final event of the night, the 5K, senior Natalie McLaughlin came in 32nd with a time of 18:31.38 and classmate Indy Reid-Shaw finished eighth overall with a time of 17:36.57, her best time this season.
Swarthmore's postseason continues at the 2017 ECAC Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Wednesday and Thursday at Westfield State University.
