CHESTER, Pa.—Swarthmore College Women's Track and Field returned to action this weekend at Widener University's Danny Curran Invitational.
Rain on Friday bumped the discus and shot put throws to Sunday. In Saturday's field events,
Maggie O'Neil had top-10 finishes in the hammer and the javelin. She finished fourth in the javelin with a throw of 34.31 meters and ninth in the hammer with a toss of 37.74 meters. On Sunday, she finished in second in the shot put (12.03m) and first among D3 throwers. Freshman
Rachel Vresilovic earned fifth in the discus (35.79m) and finished in 11th in the javelin (29.9m). Abigail Posta's 28.33 discus throw earned 10th place.
Indy Reid-Shaw came in second place among Division III runners in the 1,500-meter run with a time of 4:51 flat.
Kenzie Himelein-Wachowiak and
Natalie McLaughlin finished in the top-25 overall and were in the top-15 of D3 runners.
In the 800-meter run,
Jen Beltran finished in third among Division III runners and ninth overall with a time of 2:24.44.
Kayla Camacho turned the fourth-fastest D3 time in the meet in the 200 meters with a mark of 25.97 seconds.
Lulu Allen-Waller came in seventh overall (fifth D3) in the 400 hurdles with a time of 1:07.85.
Swarthmore competes at Princeton and West Chester next weekend.
