WACO, Texas–A 2-1 lead after doubles helped propel the Swarthmore College women's tennis team to a 5-4 win over 39th-ranked Texas-Tyler on Tuesday, March 7.
The team of
Emma Kassan and
Anna Scheibmeir battled to a 9-7 win in the second doubles flight while the duo of
Maria Cuervo and
Julia Gokhberg did the same at the third spot.
In singles, Kassan came back from one set down for a 5-7, 6-1, 6-4 victory at the no. 1 spot.
Shirline Wee won 6-4, 6-0 in third singles while Gokhberg cruised to a 6-5, 6-2 win at fourth singles.
Swarthmore wraps up Spring Break with a match against 20th-ranked Trinity (Tx.) on Thursday, March 8.
