SWARTHMORE, Pa. – The No. 16 Swarthmore College women's tennis team dropped its regular season finale to No. 5 Johns Hopkins University by a 7-0 score on Sunday afternoon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Blue Jays won all three doubles matches with victories of 6-1, 6-2, and 6-1.

Ella Strickler fell in her opening set at third singles, 3-6, but bounced back for a 6-3 triumph in set two to take the match to a decisive third set. The junior battled but came up on the short end of a 6-1 decision. Hopkins won the bouts at first and second singles in straight sets.

Lisa Messier won her opener at fourth singles, 6-4, but was taken the distance after a 1-6 loss. In a super-set tiebreak, the Blue Jays took the 10-7 victory. The visitors claimed the final two matches at fifth and sixth singles in straight sets.

The Garnet (13-6) open the Centennial Conference Tournament on Thursday with a home semifinal match.
