CHESTERTOWN, Md. – The No. 16 Swarthmore College women's tennis team wrapped up a second consecutive undefeated season in the Centennial Conference with a 7-0 shutout at Washington College on Saturday.
The Garnet head into the conference tournament as the top seed and will host a semifinal match on Thursday. Swarthmore will take on the winner of the first-round match between fourth-seeded Dickinson College and fifth-seeded Washington.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Garnet swept doubles play to take a 1-0 lead.

Uma Pogrebivsky made quick work of their opponents at the third spot, 6-2.

Erin Li battled to a 7-5 win at the top position.
- Kideckel did not drop a game at fifth singles, rolling to a 6-0, 6-0 triumph.
Ella Strickler also had little trouble in her bout at the third flight, winning 6-0, 6-1.
- Pogrebivsky won in straight sets at sixth singles, 6-2, 6-1. The Shorewomen nearly got on the board at first singles but Diaz came through with a 6-4, 1-6, 1-0 (10-2) victory.
- At fourth singles, Messier persevered in an opening set tiebreak, 7-6 (7-4), before cruising to a 6-1 triumph in the second. Washington almost spoiled the shutout at second singles to close the match, but Li came away with a 6-4, 5-7, 1-0 (10-6) decision.
