WILMINGTON, N.C.—Swarthmore College Women's Track and Field opened the 2017 outdoor season on Friday and Saturday at the conclusion of the team's training trip to North Carolina. The Garnet faced off against a slew of NAIA and NCAA Division I, II, III schools at the weekend's UNC-Wilmington Seahawk Invitational.

Kayla Camacho finished in 12th overall in the 400-meter run with a time of 1:01.11 and finished in the top of her heat. In the 200, Camacho broke the top-25 with a time of 26.61, finishing in 21st.

Freshman Rachel Vresilovic finished in the top 10 in the javelin throw, hurling the implement 31.88 meters, the third best throw in program history. Vresilovic also placed 19th at the invitational in discus and 20th in shot put. Fellow first-year Claire Conley finished 14th overall in the shot put with a throw of 10.9 meters and 20th in the discus.

In the long jump, Rachel Hilburn nearly reached five meters, reaching a mark of 4.97 meters.

Swarthmore Track and Field is scheduled to complete again on March 31 at Widener University.
