COLLEGEVILLE, Pa.–Senior
Maggie O'Neil claimed first place in the shot put on the final day of the Centennial Conference Indoor Championships hosted by Ursinus College on Sunday, Feb. 26.
The Swarthmore women finished in seventh with a total of 42.5 points over two days of competition.
O'Neil won her signature event with a distance of 12.58m while freshman
Claire Conley also scored points in the event, finishing fourth with a personal-best throw of 11.88m.
The 4x800-meter relay team of
Sydney Covitz,
Kate Hannah,
Louise Rosler and
Lilly Price also finished on the podium as the runners-up behind the team from Johns Hopkins. The Garnet quartet picked up eight points after finishing in 9:43.75.
In the 3k run, senior
Indy Reid-Shaw finished sixth and reset her own program record with a time of 10:12.08.
Kayla Camacho also scored points for the Garnet as the seventh-place finisher in the 200-meter dash and the eighth-place runner in the 60-meter dash.
The team begins the outdoor portion of its schedule on Friday, March 31 at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University.
