AUSTIN, Texas—Swarthmore College had three senior student-athletes named to the 2015-16 CoSIDA Academic All-District Four team for Track & Field and Cross Country.

Mike McConville, Sarah Nielsen and Katie Jo McMenamin earned this distinction, which honors the top student-athletes in Pennsylvania for their athletic and academic success. To be eligible, students must have a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher and be sophomores or older.

Mike McConville (Hingham, Mass./ Hingham), a senior computer science major, finished 14th overall with a time of 25:57.1 in the 2015 Cross Country Mideast Regional to earn All-Region honors. He also earned a spot on the Philadelphia Inquirer's Academic All-Area team this fall. McConville was an All-Region runner in 2013 as well and qualified for nationals that season.

Sarah Nielsen (Reston, Va./ Thomas Jefferson), a senior mathematics and education major, qualified for Nationals in 2016 in the indoor mile. She won gold in the in the outdoor 4x800 in the 2015 and 2016 Centennial Championships and also finished first in the 2015 800-meters.

Nielsen also earned All-Region honors in the 2014 Cross Country season.

Katie Jo McMenamin (Lafayette, Colo./  Peak to Peak Charter), this year's NCAA Champion in the outdoor 1,500-meters and runner-up in the 5,000-meters, majored in engineering. McMenamin was named the Centennial Conference's Most Outstanding Performer this season for Outdoor Track with gold medals in the 1,500 and the 4x800. In the fall, McMenamin won two major cross country races, the Paul Short Brown and the Inter-Regional Border Battle. She was also previously an All-American in 2014 in the 1,500.

All-District members are eligible for consideration for the CoSIDA Academic All-America teams in June.
