KALAMAZOO, Mich. –Sophomore
Mark Fallati of the Swarthmore College men's tennis team nearly upset Skidmore's Kai Yuen Leung in the first round of the NCAA Singles Tournament on Thursday, May 26, but ultimately fell 7-5, 4-6, 4-6 to the fifth-seeded Leung.
In the first set, the two players were tied at 5-5 before Fallati went ahead 1-0 with two straight games. Neither player led by two games in the second until Leung broke the 4-4 tie and took the set at 6-4. The junior All-American closed out the match in the third with a similarly close battle.
Fallati finishes the season with an impressive 16-6 record in singles.
