Swarthmore started the game off on fire, netting the first four goals of the contest with the freshman class leading the charge. Freshman

McDaniel (6-5, CC 3-2), however, started to rally and seized the momentum by netting a goal as time expired in the first half. After a Green Terror timeout with only nine seconds on the clock, Sean Brett finished a pass from Jason Lawrence to beat the horn and make it 5-3 at the break.
The Garnet opened the scoring in the second half as well when Marsh added a marker with 12:45 on the clock in the third, but the hosts stormed back and ended the game on an 8-0 run. Patrick Serio paced the Green Terror offense by recording four goals and one assist during the late stretch that proved to be the difference.
