Nathan Booth threw a complete game as the visiting Swarthmore College baseball team (18-17) beat Gwynedd Mercy 3-1 on Monday, Apr. 27 to conclude the 2015 campaign. With the victory, the Garnet secured its sixth consecutive winning season.
Swarthmore scored one run apiece in the fifth through eighth innings and benefited from a strong outing by Booth, who allowed one unearned run and struck out six.
After four scoreless innings, the Garnet put the first run on the board as Dow led off with a double and was brought around by a sac bunt and a sac fly. In the sixth, Swarthmore doubled its lead with more small ball as

Gwynedd Mercy got a run back in the sixth, but sophomore
Wesley Fishburn began the seventh by reaching on an error and nabbed his team-leading 20
th stolen base off the season. Classmate Burnett drove him in with a double to give the Garnet a 3-1 lead. Wolfson completed the scoring in the eighth on an RBI single through the left side by freshman
Cal Barnett-Mayotte.
Swarthmore is slated to return 20 letterwinners for the 2016 season, including its top four finishers in hits and runs, and its top five in batting average.
