Lulu Allen-Waller swept both hurdles events to help lead the Swarthmore College women's track and field team at the two-day Widener Invitational over the weekend.
Allen-Waller opened Saturday with a victory in the 100-meter high hurdles, finishing with a commanding personal-best time of 15.17 seconds. She then came back later in the day to win the 400-meter intermediate hurdles in 1:03.76.
Senior Osazenorieuwa Ebose placed second in the shot put with a 42-foot 10.75-inch throw, while sophomore
Maggie O'Neil took fifth place with a toss that sailed 36-2. Senior
Chastity Hopkins also took fifth in the triple jump, landing 43-2 away from the starting line.
On Friday, senior
Liz Tawa finished third in the 1,500-meter run after crossing the finish line with a time of 4:48.32 and sophomore
Natalie McLaughlin was fifth in the 5,000-meters in 19:04.33. In the field, Ebose took home gold with a 132-4 in the discus throw and O'Neil placed 11th in the javelin throw with a personal-best toss of 101-11.
The Garnet will head to Philadelphia on Thursday, April 23 to compete in the Penn Relays.
