Box Score SWARTHMORE, Pa. – A four-run ninth inning by visiting Haverford was not enough to beat the Swarthmore College baseball team (13-4, CC 1-2), which claimed a 12-10, conference victory over its archrival on Wednesday, April 1.
Junior
Nathan Booth earned his Centennial-leading sixth save of the season and sophomore
Henry Cappel improved to 3-1 after five innings of work.
Griffin Kammerer was also effective in relief with three strikeouts and no runs allowed in three innings.
Swarthmore trailed in the early going, but broke the game open with six runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Trailing 5-2, the Garnet loaded the bases behind singles from

Gregory Cox and
Danny McMahon reaching on a fielder's choice.
Freshman
Matt Palmer followed up with a bases-clearing double to center field to even the game at five apiece.
Cal Barnett-Mayotte drove in his classmate with a base hit and sophomore
Wesley Fishburn hit an RBI-double to give the Garnet a 7-5 lead. Fishburn would eventually score on a wild pitch by Casey Fox.
Haverford shrank its deficit with a run in the fifth, but the Garnet responded with two more runs in the bottom of the frame. Barnett-Mayotte crossed the plate for his second time in the game and
Ryan Burnett hit a triple to center field to score Fishburn for a 10-6 advantage.
Swarthmore walked in two more runs in the seventh and withstood a four-run outburst by the Fords in the top of the ninth to hold on for the win. Barnett-Mayotte, Cox, Burnett,
