In the opener, senior

Chelsea Matzko recorded a sacrifice fly to left field to score freshman
Anna Jensen and freshman
Sara Planthaber later scored on a wild pitch before the Aggies could escape the inning.
Swarthmore recorded two runs in the second and seven in the third to extend their lead. Planthaber smashed the only extra base hit for the Garnet – bringing around Obstfeld in the second on a hit to right center – as Swarthmore recorded 16 singles in the opener.
