Diplomats Deal Men's Lacrosse 12-5 Loss

LANCASTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's lacrosse team were dealt it's third straight Centennial Conference loss at the sticks of Franklin & Marshall by a 12-5 score on Saturday afternoon. 

Swarthmore (4-8, 1-4 CC) had five different goal scorers with Ian Lukaszewicz and Daniel Kowalyshyn recording a goal and assist each for the only multi-point scorers. Senior Jonathan Cohen recorded 10 saves in the effort, while also scooping up a team-high six ground balls. 

Coming out of the first period ahead 3-1, Franklin & Marshall (10-3, 4-1 CC) were led by Michael Bossidy with three goals and Billy Kempner with two goals and five assists. Lukaszewicz tallied first for the Garnet with a man-up goal with 37 seconds to play in the opening 15 minutes on a pass from Kowalyshyn. 

In the second, the Diplomats outscored the Garnet 4-1 with man-up and man-down goals to open and close the frame, respectively, as the home team put up 14 shots to Swarthmore's five. 

The Diplomats would take a 10-2 lead before Swarthmore rattled off two straight goals from Kowalyshyn and senior Jonathan Molloy to end the third period down 10-4. Three goals were scored in the opening five minutes of the last frame to finalize the score at 12-5. 

Swarthmore takes repreive for the week, returning to action on Saturday, April 19th hosting Dickinson College at 1:00 p.m.
