CHESTER, Pa. - The Swarthmore College men's track and field team continued the outdoor season at the Danny Curran Invitational hosted by Widener University over the weekend.
In day one of the meet, the Garnet had competitors jumping and running distance. For the 3,000-meter run, freshman
Sid Kakkar and senior
Robert Fain finished back-to-back with times of 15:09.20 and 15:11.04, respectively, for eighth and ninth overall.Â
Junior
Emanuel Schorsch recorded his college-best vault mark of 2.70 meters (8' 10.25") and senior
Gavin Fahey leap a personal-best 10.44 meter (34' 3.00") triple jump distance.Â
Beginning day two, the Garnet showed its depth once again in the 800-meter run event as all five Swarthmore runners placed in the top-20 among a field of 67 competitors. Sophomore
Paul Green led the pack with his 2:00.26 seventh-place finish, followed by junior
Jonas Oppenheimer at 2:01.19 in ninth place. Rounding out the event were
Erick White (2:02.04, 12th),
Dominic Castro-Wehr (2:02.42, 16th) and
Corey Branch (2:04.02
18th).

Alec Toro recorded a college-best finish in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with his 10:38.42 time on Saturday afternoon for fifth place overall.

Tim Vaughan-Ogunlusi and
Gavin Fahey teamed in the 4x100-meter relay for a finishing time of 44.91 for fifth place overall.

Peter Sayde recorded a long jump mark distance of 5.48 meters.
