HAVERFORD, Pa. – The Swarthmore College women's track and field team traveled to Haverford College for the Keogh Invitational on Saturday, Feb. 22 as the team's final meet before Centennial Conference championships.
Junior
Osazenoriuwa Ebose broke her own shot put program record with a 12.65 meter (41' 6") throw for first place. The previous record was set in 2012.
In the mile run, sophomore
Sarah Nielsen (5:17.13) and freshman
Indy Reid-Shaw (5:20.49) recorded personal-best marks and ECAC qualifiers.
For the 3000-meter run – a strong event for the Garnet – four harriers placed in the top-10. Sophomores Katie McMenamin (10:20.46) and
Jenna Cody (10:41.44) led the pack – McMenamin ran to a personal-best and top-five program finish and both earned ECAC qualifiers. Senior
Emma Saarel and
Tess Wei came in sixth and seventh place with times of 10:48.46 and 11:15.21, respectively.
The 4x400-relay team of Nielsen, Reid-Shaw,
Katie Lin and
Julia Nee recorded a season-best 4:12.91 finish for second place overall.
Lin recorded a personal-best and team-best 200-meter dash finish of 1:01.24 for third place and ECAC mark.
Swarthmore will return to action next weekend for the Centennial Conference championships hosted at Haverford College from Mar. 1 to Mar. 2.
