LANCASTER, Pa. – Junior
Supriya Davis turned in an NCAA 'B' Cut time in the 100-yard butterfly and also swam on the record-breaking 200 medley relay as the Swarthmore College women's swimming team maintained its sixth-place standing after the second day of the Centennial Conference Championships at Franklin & Marshall's Kunkel Aquatic Center on Saturday, Feb. 22. The Garnet have now accumulated 287.5 points through 12 events.
Davis won the 100 fly for the third consecutive season in 57 seconds flat to pace the Garnet. In addition, she teamed up with freshman
Erica Flor, sophomore
Nikkia Miller and junior
Katherine Wiseman on the 200 medley relay that set school and championship meet records by hitting the wall in 1:48.07 to begin the finals session. The previous mark of 1:48 was set by Swarthmore's Miller, Davis, Wiseman and current senior
Rebecca Teng in 2013. It also marked the third consecutive season that the Garnet have broken the championship meet record in the event.
Other notable individual performances were made by Flor and sophomore
Eva Winter. Flor placed fourth in the 100 back with a school-record time of 59.65, breaking the previous program standard of 1:00.13 set by Allie Jordan in 2008. Winter was fifth in the 100 breast by clocking in a mark of 1:09.26.
Swarthmore will conclude competing at the Centennial Conference Championships tomorrow morning beginning at 10 a.m.
