Box Score 2 SWARTHMORE, Pa. - The Swarthmore College volleyball team rallied in five sets (26-24, 23-25, 22-25, 25-21, 15-11) to defeat Johns Hopkins University for the first time since 1993. The victory is just the fifth for Swarthmore in the series history as JHU came into Saturday's match with a 25-4 record against the Garnet. With Saturday's victories, Swarthmore extends its win-streak to six matches and improves to 4-0 in Centennial Conference play; the best start in program history.
Johns Hopkins (10-10, 1-2 CC) won sets two and three for a 2-1 lead before Swarthmore (12-4, 4-0 CC) swung a .303 clip in set four set for the equalizer and then took the deciding set.

Kate Amodei and junior
Madison Heppe anchored Swarthmore's defense with 24 and 22 digs, respectively. Freshman
Alice Liu came down with four block assists.
Freshmen
Bridget Scott and
Sarah Wallace led the attack with a combined 24 kills - Scott downed three in the decisive fifth set. Junior
Sam DuBois finished with a double-double of 41 assists and 13 digs along with five kills. Senior
Chastity Hopkins swung her 500th career kill in the match after finishing with nine.
Johns Hopkins had four players in double-digit kills with Ally Hirsch leading the way with 15 swings. Kristi Rhead set the attack with 40 assists and came down with five block assists. The Blue Jays defense saw five players in double-digit digs, including Anne Cohen and Erica Johnston with 24 and 21, respectively. Despite the balanced floor, the visitors were held to a .170 clip and committed 19 service errors.
Later in the afternoon, the Garnet swept Neumann University (12-6) by set scores 25-16, 25-20 and 25-23. Freshman
Malia Scott finished with her second double-double of the season with her 23 assists and 11 digs along with four service aces and two kills. Wallace swung 10 kills in the effort, while Hopkins recorded nine.
